Rat Meat Poem
In the depths of urban twilight's veil, Where cobblestone paths wind and trail, Lies a realm unseen by common eye, A world of whispers, a truth awry. Amidst the alleys, dimly lit, A creature scurries, a tale to transmit, A rat, in shadows, it roams the night, Its hunger fierce, its will to fight. With beady eyes and a twitching nose, It searches for morsels, wherever it goes, In dumpsters and corners, its sustenance found, A scavenger's dance on hallowed ground. Yet whispered rumors stir the air, Of a secret trade that none would dare, A culinary secret, macabre and dark, Where rat meat's the prize, a sinister mark. In hidden kitchens, the fires ignite, Where culinary sorcery takes flight, Clandestine chefs, with skills refined, Prepare a feast for a daring mind. From whiskered snout to agile tail, They trim and season, never to fail, Marinated in spices, both subtle and bold, A tale of rat meat unfolds. Braised in a broth of ancient lore, With roots in legend, forevermore, They simmer the meat, tender and slow, To savor the flavors only they know. Yet hark! 'tis not a feast for all, For most shun this forbidden call, The world above deems it taboo, A gustatory journey they eschew. But those who venture into the night, Seeking flavors, defying the light, May find a world, mysterious and rare, Where palates awaken, and senses flare. In the darkness of secrecy's embrace, A culinary masterpiece takes its place, Forbidden dishes that few will taste, In the hidden world where rat meat's cased. As dawn approaches, the secret retreats, Back to the shadows, where darkness meets, The city awakens, oblivious to the tale, Of rat meat's allure, beyond the pale. And so, the rat, forever unseen, Scurries through the night, agile and keen, A creature of legend, whispered with fear, In the realm of secrets, it will adhere.
